The concept of female prophethood as promoted by feminists is a new and controversial phenomenon among academics until now. This article aims to examine the concept of female prophethood, both from the perspective of gender and the perspective of fuqaha, and is accompanied by a critical analysis of it. This article is a library research, the author takes references from turats, contemporary books and journals that discuss related matters, using a normative approach. The researcher found that the concept of female prophethood echoed by feminists generally follows the concept of female prophethood adopted by Abul Hasan Al-Ash'ari, Al Qurtubi, and Ibn Hazm. According to feminists, the concept of female prophethood is legal in Islam and justified by the Quran. The concept aims to show a friendly understanding of Islam towards women, so that there is no patriarchism in religion. However, it produces contradictory views with the views of the fuqaha. And it is not known in the treasures of Quranic interpretation, so the concept of female prophethood is considered weak and rejected.
